Skydiver Plummets 24,000 ft Without A Parachute And Doesn't Break A Bone

In this Monday, July 25, 2016 photo, skydiver Luke Aikins smiles as he jumps from a helicopter during his training in Simi Valley, Calif. After months of training, this elite skydiver says he's ready to leave his chute in the plane when he bails out 25,000 feet above Simi Valley on Saturday. That's right, no parachute, no wingsuit and no fellow skydiver with an extra one to hand him in mid-air. (AP Photo/Jae C. Hong)

The thought of skydiving makes the majority of us weak at the knees. This is probably because when you leap out of a plane that's thousands of feet in the sky, there's only a mass of strong cloth attached to your back that's preventing you from plummeting to the ground below. Lets face it, that's a pretty scary experience. Even for the elite.

What could possibly make the descent from aircraft to earth more unnerving? Well, leaping out of a plane at 25,000 feet without a parachute of course. And that's exactly what one guy just did.

Yes, you ready that correctly. Adrenaline junkie Luke Aikins has achieved a lot in his career – he's completed over 180,000 jumps, trained some of the world's most gifted skydivers, and performed stunts in blockbuster smash hit Ironman 3. Now the 42-year-old can add 'willingly jumped out of a plane without a parachute and survived' to that never-ending list of accolades. Check out the fear-inducing footage on the next page.
